A few days ago I said i was going to do some research on getting my son active this summer doing something fun. I found some neat advice and ideas then I came across this and thought it would be worth sharing for other moms out there wondering what you can do with your teen this summer.

doughI’m sure when we were kids one of our favorite things was playdough. It allows so much imagination and hours of creativity and fun. Playdough is still a favorite artistic medium of kids everywhere. Playdough can be used over and over again if kept in its container, or kids can let their creations dry and keep them.

You can find playdough in almost any store that sells toys. But it’s also very cheap and easy to make. You probably have everything you need to make at least one type of playdough in your kitchen cupboard. Some recipes are even edible. Here are three fun and simple ways to make playdough.

Spring has Sprung

Well the winter blues are lifting here in Eastern WA. The sun has been out for a few days and it seems that it is going to stay that way, this really makes me happy. BBQ has been used alot the last week one of my favorite things to do. So things are looking up on the weather front.

On the home front they are looking up to,  Alin is back in school with no more limitations. The Neroligist gave him a clean bill of health and to watch his head since it may still be a little swollen. So just keeping an eye on that. He has offically become a teen, not wanting to be home out running around with his friends. I am glad he is having fun.

Find fabric paints in Dad’s favorite colors and purchase a 100% cotton T-shirt for each child to decorate. Put the fabric paint on a disposable plate and then have the children place their hands on the shirt. Follow washing instructions after the paint has dried. You may want to have the children sign and date the shirt so Dad can see how much the children have grown.
