Cabin Fever and Teens

It is true that preteens and teens tend to get cabin fever and bored to. So I began to brainstorm with my sons some of the things that they like to do. This would also be a good idea to do with your teen to do get some other ideas. This is what we came up with, it?s a good idea to keep a list so when you do get I?m bored from them to pick up the paper and let them pick a something to do.

Sit and make up stories this helps build creativity, but also handwriting. This is also a good way for them to express new ideas and feelings. Sometimes their stories are based on personal experiences, and problems that they are facing. So this can actually begin to help them problem solve themselves various things they are facing.
On the same train of thought is creating plays, this helps in another avenue of creativity and perhaps feed the acting bug that is in a lot of us and our children. A dance contest is also something that can be added to this.

Board and card games are a good fun way for all kids I mentioned this with the little ones but older children love playing games too. This can be fun for the whole family.

Most preteens like to build club houses ok maybe more boys than girls, But letting them use couch cushions and blankets. Their mind can go crazy with fun imaginary projects and fun.
Help them start working on their hobbies such as drawing, crafting, cooking just whatever they are in to or possibly even start a new hobby with their other interests.
These are just some ideas that may apply to your child or not. I know for our ?I?m Bored? list, I am always looking to add to it. So if you have an idea please let me know.
