Today is a cold day here in Washington. And I started brain storming some fun ideas to get the children to do this afternoon. I then thought of the paper bags that we have floating around the house. After a little thinking I found some great ideas to create with them.

When things get boring in the afternoon and going outside is not really an option for that day. There are some creative ways that you can spend the day making some crafts with your children. Crafts do not mean that you have to keep a stock of craft supplies around the house. There are several household items that you can use to create these fun crafts with and have you and your children busy for hours. Here are some ideas to use with paper bags, crayons, markers, colored paper and what ever else comes to mind.

Make puppets, Yes this idea has been around for a long time, however it is one that is often brushed aside and forgotten about.Take lunch paper bags and add some eyes, a mouth maybe even a nose and ears,These can be made out of paper, crayons or markers,Post it notes. There are times we even used wiggly eyes and pipe cleaners when making the puppets. These puppets are limitless and a lot of fun to create. After creating them pick a favorite story and have your puppets do the acting.

If you have a special birthday coming up a fun idea especially if it?s for mom, dad or a grandparent, is to create wrapping paper, for these the grocery store bags are perfect. Simply open the bag at the seams and color the inside. If the gift is a little bigger than the paper and you need two, Use an iron on low to get rid of the seams. A good idea is to make several on inside days can have instant wrapping paper for later in the year.

On the topic of gifts you can take the small lunch size bags and have your child decorate them with markets and stickers to create gift bags for those smaller gifts.

These are just a few fun projects that you can do with your little one today to help them be busy, and expand their creativity.
