Mixes in a Jar – Dips
Everyone loves a good dip, this offers the recipient to make their own yummy dips. The first two are for single servings I get a nice dip size bowl and add a few of each that way they get a pretty bowl to put the yummy dip in.
Bacon Dip
- 2 tb Instant Bacon Bits
- 1 tsp Instant Beef Bouillon
- 1 tb Instant Minced Onion
- 1/8 tsp Minced Garlic
Combine all ingredients in a small bowl; blend well. Pour mixture onto a snack size zip lock bag, Label as Bacon-Flavored Dip Mix. Store in a cool, dry place and use within 6 months. Makes 1 package (about 3 T) of mix.
Attach this to the Jar
Bacon Flavored Dip:
Combine 1 cup of sour cream and 1 package of mix. Chill at least 1 hour before serving. Makes about 1 cup of dip.
VARIATIONS: Substitute 1 cup yogurt, 1 cup cottage cheese or 1 (8 oz) package of softened cream cheese for sour cream.
Buttermilk Ranch Dip
- 2 tbs Saco cultured buttermilk blend
- 3 tbs nonfat dry milk
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
Combine ingredients in bowl then pour in snack size zip lock bag.
Attach this to the Jar
Buttermilk Ranch Dip mix 1/2 cup water with 2 tablespoons fat-free mayonnaise and the bag of dip mix. Combine well. Chill for a few hours to thicken before serving. *always store mixes in a cool, dry place. Dip for veggies or chips
Mexican Fiesta Dip
- 1/2 cup dried parsley
- 1/3 cup minced onion
- 1/4 cup dried chives

- 1/3 cup chili powder
- 1/4 cup ground cumin
- 1/4 cup salt
In a large bowl, combine the spices and store in an airtight container.

Mexican Fiesta Dip
Makes 2 cups
3 Tbsp. Mexican Fiesta Dip Mix
1 cup mayonnaise or low-fat mayonnaise
1 cup sour cream or low-fat yogurt
In a medium mixing bowl combine the Dip Mix with the mayonnaise and sour cream. Whisk the mixture until smooth. Refrigerate for 2 to 4 hours. Serve with tortilla chips or fresh vegetables.
Ranch Dressing and Dip
This versatile mix can be used to make a dressing for salads, a dip for fresh veggies, or topping for baked potatoes.
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. dried parsley
- 1/2 Tbsp. dried chives
- 1/4 Tbsp. dried tarragon
- 1/2 Tbsp. lemon pepper
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1/4 Tbsp. oregano
- 1/2 Tbsp. garlic powder
In a medium bowl, combine all the ingredients. Store in an airtight container

Ranch Dressing
Makes 1 cup
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 Tbsp. Ranch Dressing & Dip Mix
In a large bowl whisk together the mayonnaise, buttermilk and dressing & dip mix. Refrigerate for one hour before serving.
Ranch Dip
Makes 2 cups
2 Tbsp. Ranch Dressing & Dip Mix
1 cup mayonnaise or low-fat mayo
1 cup sour cream or low-fat yogurt
Combine the Ranch Dressing and Dip Mix with mayonnaise and sour cream. Refrigerate for 2 hours before serving with raw vegetables, or as a topping for baked potatoes.
