Quick and Easy Oreo Bark

I love to make candy with the kids, not only around the holidays often times just because. If you ask me its a great time to spend with the kids and enjoy the bonding that comes with it. One yummy treat that is easy to make is Oreo Bark. I Love these to me the oreo bark tastes like the Mothers frosted animal crackers.

Ingredients

almondbark-1

  • 6 cubes of Vanilla Almond Bark
  • About one line of a pack Oreos (more or less according to your liking)

Other things you will need

  • Microwaveable Bowl
  • wax paper
  • Chopper or large zip lock bag
  • Large spoon

How to make it

  1. If you have a chopper place oreos in and chop, If not place oreos in zip lock back grab heavy spoon and begin to smash.
  2. Place about a foot and half or so piece of wax paper on counter
  3. Take 6 squares of almond bark put in microwave bowl warm on high for 1 min 30 seconds. Then stir. (note the almond bark does not look like its melting when looking at it, so mix it to help the melting process.) Microwave another 30 seconds? and mix again, repeat until creamy.
  4. When Almond bark is smooth and creamy mix in oreos until all is covered.
  5. Pour over the wax paper about 1/4 of an inch thick.
  6. Let cool, 15-20 minutes, break in to desired pieces and serve.

You can use the holiday colored oreos, they have red and green for christmas, pastels for easter, I tried using the red last year the red did over power the white in the almond bark way to much. the pastels worked better.
