Well, Yes it is cold outside but sometimes no matter what fun activities we have planned during our day cabin fever still hits in a big way. So I started brainstorming some fun ideas to get you and your children out of the house.
Hit the library, most libraries have a story time or a time for little ones to go and interact with others. These are good for both mom and child why the kids can play and have fun while you meet new moms in your area with children of a similar age.
Community centers are another place that often has playtimes for children as well these may have a small fee, depending on your center. A good idea would be to call first.
Head to the mall, just window shop and explore what is there. Also many malls these days have a play area so when your children get antsy from shopping some place to let them blow of some energy. Now this option may not be for those of us who love to shop.
Some bigger cities or towns may have children museums. Often during the week they have some down time and offer discounts or free admission to visit. These are fun for all ages and a great learning experience.
How about setting up play dates? Get together with some friends that have children a similar age and get together. Yes one of you is still at home but having a friend over and the kiddos busy can help a lot. Check out websites like Cafemom or Meetup and check out local moms, if you don?t have any friends with children your age.
The last thing I came up with is just bundle up you and your kiddos and go for a short walk, Yes it is cold but it is ok. Dress warm and go out for 5-10 minutes. The fresh air will not only help feel better, its nice to just get outside.
Do you have other ideas that can help get your out of the house while cabin fever is kicking in? Let us know.
