Scavenger Hunts to get a clean house

I am sure most children love to go on a scavenger hunt. A cleaning hunt is a fun way to have them help clean with the reward of finding something special. It can be something planted or something that you know is in the mess you want them to help clean.

You can take a special toy that they like then play ok we have to pick up all the toys to find it, just have it hid well. This creates a fun game as well as gets the toys off the floor. An alternative is if they have a lot of cars, an idea is to have them pick up all the toys, then put the cars in a special area that way they have all the cars together to play with.

Children and Organizing Can Mix

A lot of times we begin to organize, with children around it can get tough. They are pulling you in different directions and you get hardly anything accomplished. However, bringing them in on the action is not that hard to do, especially when we are talking about their room or spaces they are in frequently.

I am sure we have all heard label their drawers with a drawing or picture of what goes in the drawer. But why not have them take pictures of their socks for the sock drawer or their shirts for that drawer. They get involved and then want to help out those things in there. And it is their stuff that they have a picture of so it makes a little more sense.

3 Fun Techniques to Mix Children and Chores

Often we are all discouraged when our little ones don’t want to help. I am sure they have their moments when helping is fun. However those are most often replaced with “But Mom, why do I have do it” Or “Ok Give me five minutes” which results with either the job not getting done or starting an argument. Neither of which the results we are looking for.
Starting out when they are younger is always better, is something I am sure we have all heard a time or two. We must also realize that it is not always possible to start early so we have older kids who do not want to help out.
A few fun ideas that can help out, try to keep in mind consistency is the key to getting things to work out. These are ways that I have helped get my older two to help out in the house.
