K5-Learning Review

As I mentioned a few weeks ago there was an opportunity to review K5 Learning. This is really a great program for kids. Its great for kids who are above as well as below average. It helps keep their skills in the front of their mind, it also helps them advance in areas that they may be struggling or not quite understand.

Growing Culinary Herbs In Containers ~ Review

I was asked to do a review of this eBook Growing Culinary Herbs In Containers because I love gardening. I enjoy getting down and dirty however I don’t have a ton of room to do real gardening in this house or our old house. So when I seen this opportunity I jumped at the chance to get some good container gardening going this year.

Cook’n Recipe Organizer Review and Giveaway

I Love cooking, and baking and creating new recipes as I go. Many times I get stuck with what to do for dinner so I hit the internet and get ideas. I am sure many others are like this, then you print the recipe then you end up with tons of papers everywhere trying to organize them and get things in order. It can be a pain in the bottom in no time. Or you have a recipe and you are unsure how healthy it is or spend time trying to combine everything in to the shopping list.

Book Review By MamaLuvsBooks:
Weight issues have always been a problem in my family. We try and stay healthy and we’ve even had our own “Biggest Loser” family contests. For some reason though we always yo-yo back-and-forth with our weights. In the past I lost weight with Weight Watchers and was even a leader for a few years, but after having two kids I need to lose a few and get more fit. What I liked about reading “Fit Moms for Life” is that it is a “life goal.” It’s not just about losing a few pounds now, but more about caring about yourself as an individual and caring about your long-term health.

Author Dustin Maher breaks down weight-loss into “5 Pillars of Fitness!” The book is centered around these ideas and he helps explain them to you and have you put them into practice in your everyday life. The pillars are: Mindset, Nutrition, Strength Training, Burst Training, and Environment. I was glad to learn that I didn’t need to be running all the time and training for a marathon to lose weight!

My favorite things about this book are that it is easy to read, Maher seems to be speaking to YOU the reader, it gives advice that is doable, and the book has MANY stories and pictures from moms that HAVE already done it and continue to live a healthy lifestyle. Also, there are sections at the end to write up your progress!

I would recommend this book for any mom trying to lose weight and trying to be healthy. A healthier mom leads to a healthier family! You can see more about the program and the book at FitMomsForLife.com.

THINGS I LOVE ABOUT THE BOOK:

1. Although it is titled “For Moms” it can really be for ANYONE!
2. Has relevant real-life stories throughout the book you can relate to.
3. Gives useful and practical information for busy Moms!
4. Breaks down the steps into “Five Pillars of Fitness!”

5. Helps to set your goals for “Life” – not just for “Let me lose 20 pounds right now!”
6. LOVE the eating habits tips and the “Dirty Dozen” and “The Clean 15″ to help you when shopping for organic foods.

7. LOVE the recipes included and meal plans (and healthy snacks section).
8. The exercises are explained well and have pictures to go with them.
9. A section in the back for “New Moms” and “Moms-to-Be!”
10. Lastly, I like the section in the back to record your goals, data, and progress!

Birthday Chronicle ~ Review

I was asked to do a review on this really neat birthday present. I choose to do someone who has an upcoming birthday that I love.

First it was really fast with in a couple of hours it came in my email. It may have been sooner I had other things to do so that is when I checked my mail again. I opened the Birthday Chronicle and it was so great, its filled with facts from the date of birth from sports to the politics, others who share the birthday. This is going to make a great present for this person.

Party Planning Checklist Review

Party Planning ChecklistI was asked to give a review on this new ebook called Party Planning Check list Ok First I will say I thought what do you need a check list for I thought really its not that hard to get a party together.

So reading this I was curious why we would need such a book. Well little did I know how much work should be going in to a party to have it really stand out, make it run smoothly and make sure all the details are set out. I for one have never been really into throwing a party yes I have hosted a few but didn’t do the work, usually my mom and her friends did it.

My Memories Suite Review and Giveaway

I was given the opportunity to review some amazing digital scrapbooking software. It is called My Memories Suite. This is one amazing program I fell in love with it almost immediately.

My Memories Suite Version 3 digital scrapbooking software is a fun and creative way to keep and share memories, whether you have a Mac or PC. The software’s design tools will help you to build entire albums effortlessly using one of the many installed templates, or designing your very own pages from scratch.

All New Crafts for Valentines Day Review

With Valentine’s around the corner, you and your kids might be thinking of easy to do crafts. The “All New Crafts for Valentines” book provides 20 craft projects for your youngsters with a recommended age of 6 and up. The instructions given are easy to follow, so that your older child can pretty much do them on their own, whereas a younger child might need the help of an adult. I like the fact that the materials needed for the projects are easy to come by and inexpensive. Overall, there is some gluing, drawing and cutting involved. Each project starts with a “Here is what you need” list, followed by simple, illustrated, instructions.
