Have you tried the Craftsy Block of the Month?
The Craftsy Block of the Month is a completely free, year-long online class instructed by expert quilter, Amy Gibson.
There are 12 installments, each one posted on the first day of every month. The first 10 months/installments teach our students two new exciting blocks (brand new designs or funky spins on traditional blocks). The last two months are dedicated to finishing the quilt. At the end of the class, our students will have full-size and one-of-a-kind quilts. You as a student can view it whenever it?s convenient for them, and can watch them however many times they?d like. It?s filmed in high-definition, and it?s fully interactive—students can ask Amy questions as they go.
How to Spot and Help a Sleep-Deprived Teen
Staying up late is almost a rite of passage for teens. Many experts point out that teens’ internal sleep cycles actually change, making them more into night owls than they used to be (or might be in the future). That doesn’t mean they need less sleep, though – sources say teens should get at least nine hours a night. But how many actually do?
Because late nights are considered so normal for teens, many parents might not recognize sleep deprivation in their teen. Here are some tips on how to recognize it, as well as ways you can help.
How to Keep Your Toddler Busy and Entertained In a Restaurant
It’s a common problem faced by nearly all parents of toddlers. They want to go out to eat but their child begins getting fussy while waiting for the food to arrive. If you’re like most parents in this stage, you probably want to know how to keep your toddler busy and entertained in a restaurant. The following are some ideas which have been successful for other parents.
1. Choose a family-friendly restaurant. Find a restaurant which caters to families with children and your child will feel right at home. People eating at this type of restaurant are used to the noise level and with having little ones running around them. However, if you’re interested in having a quiet meal with your partner, try to get a babysitter.
How to Help Your Child to Better Grades
Parents know how important it is for children to do well in school. In fact, you may want to know how to help your child to better grades. Read the following to give you ideas you can use to help your child’s grades improve.
* Ensure your child has a good breakfast each day before school starts. Breakfast may be the most important meal of the day for a child. Offer them something hot and nutritious to get their brain in gear before they have to start using it.
My Child Cheats -What Can I Do?
Cheating happens every day. Athletes cheat by taking performance-enhancing drugs. Students cheat on exams and reports. Some executives cheat by ‘cooking the books’ to make their company appear more solvent than it is. If your child cheats, you may be wondering if you should worry since it seems like ‘everyone’ is doing it.
The plain and simple truth is that cheating is dishonest. Cheating allows someone to achieve something they didn’t earn. It also hurts innocent people along the way. Parents may be afraid that if their child begins cheating now they’ll develop a pattern of cheating that will continue into adulthood.
Easy Strategies to Stop Yelling at Your Kids
How many of you are guilty of yelling at your kids? If you are a yeller, these easy strategies to stop yelling at your kids may provide you with the help you need to change your yelling habits.
For anyone who does yell at their kids, you know it?s a hard habit to break. You may be so used to yelling that you don?t even realize you?re doing it. Remember your children will learn more by example than what is told or explained to them. So if you yell a lot, your children are more likely to follow suit. Once you?ve broken that cycle of yelling, you?ll find life as a family is much calmer.
