Benefits and Risks of Kids Running

Medical experts agree that children who are active are healthier than those who are sedentary. Many school systems no longer have the same amount of time for Physical Education and recess, but this doesn’t mean your child can’t be active at home. Some adults choose to run to keep active. With kids, there are benefits and risks of running if that’s what they choose to do.

How to Inspire Kids to Embrace Exercise

As a parent, you want what’s best for your children. You want them to be healthy and happy. One way to ensure they’re healthy is to inspire them to embrace exercise. If they learn to love to exercise as a child, they’ll be more likely to continue into adulthood.

Very young children seem to be a ball of perpetual motion. However, the older they get the less likely they are to stay active. Part of the reason children aren’t as active when they are growing up is that schools don’t stress physical education the way they once did. Parents also don’t feel allowing their child to play in the neighborhood is as safe as it once was.

Stress, Depression, and Exercise

As I have mentioned before that I am Bi-polar more on the depressed side then manic. I went to the Dr yesterday for a check up and all was the same as it has been she did give me something to help me sleep since I haven’t been sleeping. I haven’t been sleeping because of stress from my son. Something that is not much discussed he is also bi-polar and it seems that he has been stuck in a manic/rage state the last few months. We was evaluated and found that he possibly has aspergers syndrome we are looking more in to that with his Dr. So yea things have been stressful here with him and the other kiddos driving me crazy but it will be ok.

Family Workouts – Fun and Easy

Today, perhaps more than ever before, spending quality time with our families is important. It seems like adults and kids alike have impossibly busy lives, and we just don’t keep up with one another like we once did. So when we do get a moment to spend together, we want to get as much out of it as possible.

One way to do so is by having family workouts. You’ll get to catch up with the kids and spouse while doing something that is good for all of you. Children tend to pick up the habits of their parents, so by exercising with them, you make it more likely that they will exercise on their own now and in the years to come.

Circuit Training – The Best Way To Burn Calories

Despite the well-known fact that exercising is essential to good health, many people just don’t do it. These days, it’s often because we just don’t have time. We’re more informed about the benefits of a good workout routine than ever before, but who can work a full cardio and strength training regimen in, even if it is just a few times a week?

For those who want to improve overall fitness but feel that there aren’t enough hours in the day, circuit training may be the answer. As the name suggests, circuit training involves doing a series of exercises in rapid succession. Over a period of 30 minutes to an hour, one can use circuit training to work all of the major muscle groups and get a good aerobic workout.

Couch to 5k Exercise Plan

It’s no secret that running is a highly beneficial form of exercise. It provides a great workout for weight loss, toning and cardiac health. But many of us can’t run across the front yard without getting winded. This often leads to the mistaken belief that we just can’t be successful runners.

The truth is, almost anyone who can walk can run for exercise. Those of us who are out of shape just need to build up slowly but steadily. Too many people try to run long distances at top speed when starting out, and that only leaves them out of breath and makes them more susceptible to injury. A better approach is found in the Couch to 5k exercise plan.
