How to Save Money with Unique Handmade Birthday Invitations

There’s so much to do when throwing a birthday party. There are party favors to choose, cakes to buy or bake and decorate, gifts to purchase, and decorations to hang. But one of the most important things to do when planning a party is to invite the guests. A party is not much fun if there’s no one there to celebrate with you!

You could go to the store and pick up a pack of invitations. Or you could make your own unique ones. It’s not as hard as you might think, and it can actually save you money. Here are some tips to help you make beautiful invitations without breaking the budget.

Toddler Crafts That Don’t Require Any Scissors

finger-paintingCrafts are good for kids. They can keep them productively occupied while you’re doing work around the house, or give you something to do together. Crafting helps kids learn new skills and gives them a sense of accomplishment.

Crafting is especially good for small children. They can gain hand-eye coordination, learn about shapes and colors, and more. But most crafts require the use of scissors, which can be difficult for a toddler to use properly. Even the small, blunt children’s scissors can be too much of a challenge.

However, there are some crafts that your toddler can create without scissors. Here are a few to choose from:

Five Springtime Crafts for Little Hands

With springtime coming quickly, little hands may be itching to get their hands dirty. Instead of letting them make mud pies in the yard, why not use these five spring time crafts for little hands instead? Not only will you be able to control some of the mess, they’ll have a pretty craft to be proud of as well.

Springtime banners

Springtime banners are a great craft for little hands. Purchase 12 inch by 12 inch felt in springtime colors, cut in half. You will also need glue, scissors, yarn, scrap pieces of felt, and other accessories. Leave the banner as a rectangle or trim one end to create a point – the choice is theirs.

Kids Chirstmas Craft- Cards

Christmas cards are always a great craft.? Provide the kids supplies like construction paper, card stock, scissors, glue, glitter (the bottles of glitter/glue in one package are a very nice low-mess way to dress up a project), pencils, crayons or markers and old Christmas cards. Let the kids use their creative energy to make wonderful handmade cards that can be shared with family and friends. By cutting pictures out of old cards, even the younger children can make something really nice (and recycle at the same time).
