Many families are enrolling their children in private schools and this book explores the reasons. The author Alan Eisenstock followed several families across the country and interviewed them about their process of picking schools and why they made the decisions they made. Unfortunately, our public school system cannot compare with the private school system and all it has to offer.

He shares the experiences of several families and their reactions to visiting the local public schools. Many wanted the opportunity to visit the schools before applying and were disappointed to see the environment their kids would be attending. The schools were very old, with aged flooring, walls in need of a new coat of paint and equipment that was out dated.

When the parents visited the private institutions the difference was remarkable. The private schools had smaller classrooms with two teachers, pristine playgrounds and the latest technology available. The cafeteria was also amazing with a variety of hot meals to choose from and a clean environment. The differences the author explains were far from cosmetic. The education was excellent as well as challenging. Parents are not only searching for a safe environment for their children but one that will teach them and prepare them for the future.

This author also interviewed the administrators of the private schools and asked how they determined whom to admit and the responses he received were very interesting.
